Canossian Foundation
The Canossian Daughters of Charity, Servants of the Poor, is an international congregation of women founded (in Verona, Italy, in May 1808) by St. Magdalene of Canossa who was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1988. Their actions arise from their identity born of Christ crucified, the Greatest Love. They are called to journey in simplicity, sharing a common life at the service of our brothers and sisters on every continent. Through ministries of education and human promotion, evangelization and faith formation, and pastoral care among the suffering, they strive to touch each person with the love of God. Their motto is “to make Jesus known and loved”, especially to those most needed.
Charity is a fire that spreads out to embrace all. The Canossian Daughters of Charity exists throughout the world today -
In Asia: Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, Macao, Malaysia, Singapore, E. Timor, India and Japan.
In America: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Paraguay and United States.
